To Do Tuesday 11-8-22

Today is To Do Tuesday, where we share our activities of the past week and plan our playlists for the coming week. Whether you quilt or sew or craft or photograph or read or decorate, you are welcome! More information may be found by clicking on the young couple above. 😁

I thought of Diann at Little Penguin Quilts when I saw this at Joann's last week!

Melisa at Pinker 'n Punkin Quilting has started a new SAL with the cutest little snowman! It is called "Flurry and Flakes" and will feature five snowmen and alternate blocks. She will share a block pattern every Thursday for five weeks. It started this past Thursday, but you can easily catch up - find all the details as well as the first pattern, "Winter Welcome", right here. I have mine ready to stitch, along with one of Kathy' Schmitz's designs, Winter's Brew.

Pattern #3 for Joy's Mystery Autumn Stitchalong can be found right here. I am really enjoying this little piece and went kind of crazy buying all different colors of floss.

The Wedding Quilt!

My playlist for this past week:
✅1. Bind The Wedding Quilt and post about it. - DONE and posted here!!
✅2. Continue work on the RBD quilt if fabric arrives. - Yes - fabric arrived, and I am in the process of sewing on the setting triangles.
❌3. Work on Quilting Gail's Fall 2022 Scrappy Mystery QAL - No - I finally printed the instructions, but I can't decide whether to use a dark background or light - how do you decide on fabrics for a mystery SAL?
❌4. Work on wall hanging and Christmas quilt - Nada
✅5. Keep working on needlework in the evenings - DONE - I am enjoying a variety of projects!

I resumed cross stitching a piece I worked on last year and am going to try to finish it for Christmas. It is a round, lace-edged table topper with a dark navy background, and I am using a sparkly white silvery floss.

Here is my playlist for the coming week:
1. Gail's Fall 2022 Scrappy Mystery SAL
2. RBD quilt
3. Evening needlework
4. Get started on my project for Virtual Cookie Exchange by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt!

Now it is your turn! Link up those posts and go offer a word of encouragement or pat on the back to your fellow linkers. If Marsha of Marsha's Spot links up and you have issues accessing her blog, copy this URL and paste it into your browser: https://marshasspot.com/

  3. OH Yeah! It is impossivel seeing anything related to Pingouins and don't think immedially about Diann.
Love how you embroidered the letters, each one with a different collor. The wedding quilt is beautiful, nothing better than a heart. Well done! The table topper is comming along nicely. Lovely projects on your playlist, Linda! Have a wonderful week.

  5. Good morning! I am thrilled to be able to rejoin the weekly linky party and I applaud you for offering it! Your Wedding Quilt is just so gorgeous. I know a LOT of love has been sewn and quilted into it, and the newlyweds will certainly feel that. Cross stitch is perfect for evening stitching. I've been tacking down a binding - slowly but surely it will be complete. Great job and good luck with this week's list. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. I love that little penguin - looks like nutcracker? I haven’t been to Joann's in awhile - looks like I need to go! You're all set for some embroidery, too. I saw Melisa's new snowman series - so tempting! The white on navy tabletopper looks beautiful! Have a great week, Linda!

  8. What a great playlist you have going. It is so fun to see the Wedding Quilt and read the story. Lovely lovely! I need to get busy, but not plans to travel for the holidays are in full swing. So I am gathering hand work (slow stitching). The QOV will get as far as it gets. And my local long armers are snow birds and travelers too, so it will wait for quilting til late January ( it it gets constructed, that is! ) I just noticed your map of states you have visited on your sidebar. Looks like you need a trip to Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana. :)

  9. All your handwork is so much fun! I love what you are doing but will keep my eyes down on my new cross stitching....although I did unearth a few gems trying to coral the DMC floss! Good luck with your week.

  10. Your to do list for this week seems reasonable. I haven't decided if I'm going to do QuiltingGail's mystery but I have printed the instructions. I thought if I did I would use light background because I have 2 light jelly rolls and since it calls for 2.5 in squares that would be doable. I love your wedding quilt. Thanks for sharing

  11. I really love that Wedding quilt, as well as all your projects. It's nice to have a variety of things, though I sometimes get impatient if I have too many going at once! Have fun with your plans this week!

  12. I love seeing all of your stitching projects. I have a lot of numbness in my right hand, so it gets harder and harder for me to hold onto a needle. I do miss Cross-stitch. All of those winter squares are going to be so much fun. Pattie @Olla-Podrida

  13. Congrats on the beautiful wedding quilt finish. Pantos can be fun to do when you get rolling along. You do have some fun projects on the playlist this week Linda. It almost tempts me to learn cross stitch or embroidery. 😳

  15. I'm still alive, believe it or not. So much is going on in my life, but I'm truly working on getting back some of my routines.

  16. Oh, yes, those penguins do remind us of Diann, right? I love Melisa’s SALs! I’ll be saving her Snowman project as I am deep into my Bee Humble SAL. Your Mystery Autumn SAL is coming along beautifully! I saw the post on your beautiful Wedding Quilt and was enthralled with it’s beauty. The color selections, the piecing and placement of your neutrals is amazing! Congratulations on the completion of a stunning, heirloom quilt! Your table topper is lovely. I’ve often thought of using that frame on some of my hand embroidery pieces. How do you like using it?

  17. Hi Linda! Your Wedding quilt is so beautiful. It is a glorious feeling to be done right? I love collecting nutcrackers but haven't been in a store for awhile. Seems like it is time to make a trip to pick up a new one. I usually collect snowmen, but I love that penguin. Your needlework projects are beautiful. That table topper will be beautiful when finished. As for the mystery SAL/QAL, I lean towards dark backgrounds almost always. The background should be determined more about whether your other fabrics will contrast or not so pick what goes with the rest of your fabric pull but not blend in. Thank you again for sharing all of your wonderful projects. This week I included a lot of Simba pictures because he has been a pest and was thinking, I would love to see a picture of your kitty soon.... Have a great week!
