To Do Tuesday 1-4-22 - Happy 2022!

Welcome to the first To Do Tuesday in 2022! Our New Year's Eve PJ party was pretty tame, with us not being able to stay awake past 11:00 - lol! How are things going with you - have you made goals for 2022? I hope you will share with us by adding your post to the link party below. If you are new to this event, just click the logo above for more details.

Final blocks from 2021 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Patterns by Jen

Here was my list of goals last week:
☑1. Wedding Quilt - cutting - I cut a few pieces then began to waffle about the pattern
✅2. Take down Christmas decorations - done last Tuesday, finished by 10:00am!
✅3. Pieces of the Santa Fe Trail - last block, layout, and post - done and posted here
✅4. Color Challenge layout and post - finished the block - no post but you can see the all the blocks in the photo above. These will likely become orphan blocks.

My goals this week:
1. Work on Wedding Quilt.

The Wedding Quilt is a quilt for my great-nephew and his fiancée who are getting married this month. We have sent "regular" wedding gifts but I hope to complete a quilt for them by the end of the month. This will be my main focus in the sewing room for awhile. I'm still undecided on the "Sprinkling" pattern by Coriander Quilts, but I am using a layer cake of Vert Fusion by AGF against a background of Spotted Graphite by Zen Chic for Moda. The bride and groom like grays and sage-y greens, so I am hoping this will be to their liking. It will be different for sure!

Now it's time to share your stuff! Let us know what's going on in your world by adding your link below.

Because Inlinkz continues to have issues with Marsha's Spot, I will post her website for you to visit her blog. She may or may not have a post for To Do Tuesday, but here is her address just in case:

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  3. We didn't make it past 11 either on New Year's Eve. Congrats on all the progress this week. Good luck with the wedding quilt. I'm not a fan of sewing to deadlines, but I have one of those that will need to be done by a given date. Happy stitching.

  6. The wedding quilt looks like a really neat pattern! Picking colors for other people's quilts always feels challenging to me, but looks like you nailed it. I'll enjoy seeing how this one progresses!

  9. Hi Linda, a very happy and healthy New Year to you. I love those blocks you have on the wall. I like how traditional blocks look with more modern style fabrics. Great new fabrics to play with. Off to a great stitching start!

  10. The wedding quilt fabrics are so pretty, as is the pattern. Will be fun to see it take shape! You've had a good week with your goals. My Christmas decor will stay up for a bit, as per usual. The tree will eventually be undressed except for the lights and moved to the deck, where it will stay for quite a while. The birds love it, as do the squirrels. My MCC quilt top is in time out. No more to say about that.

  11. We are always very tame for New Year's but this year might have topped even that. Hubs and I both fell asleep watching a movie with the Cadet (pretty sure he was annoyed! LOL) and then woke up for the end of the movie and went to bed as it hit midnight.
The wedding quilt will be beautiful, and I'll have fun watching the progress!

  12. Hi,
I really like your Color Challenge blocks...so pretty. I'm doing the challenge this year, only I'm doing trees for each color. Have a great day!

  13. Hi Linda! Look at all the link ups today!! Everyone must have set a resolution for the new year to get organized or to make a list. Nice! Those fabrics for the wedding quilt. O.M.G. They are so luscious looking - that spotted graphite makes me drool next to the ivory tree-bark-ish fabric. It is going to be gorgeous. Those colors will stand out so nicely against the graphite. I cannot wait to see you get started on this! Thanks so much for the link up today! It's a great way to start the new year. {{Hugs}} a bunch. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thank you so much Mary! I got most of the pieces cut yesterday, so I've at least got my least favorite part out of the way. ;)

    1. I am happy to do it Marsha! I find it very strange that the link to your blog in my post works just fine but clicking the same link through Inlinkz does not. And obviously Inlinkz is not working on it! ;)

  19. ahh love those quilt blocks. You sound so busy . I hope you get the quilt done for the wedding. But you probably will - you are a focused person to get all this done. Me, no real plans, just letting my mood guide me and it's not taking me anywhere exciting lately. With grandkids all in different states our iife is pretty quiet compared to when we baby sat so many of them when they were young. Enjoy your quilting and the cats.

    1. Thank you Sandy, I really haven't been busy the last several days. We get a few things done in the morning, eat an early dinner, then vegetate with the Kindle app and/or TV. We need to get up and walk like you do!
