My New Mexico dream house and the view out the windows

Here it is the last week of July, and it seems like summer will never end. Ours began in May, when we were cheated out of our spring by an early heat wave, and it continues with record-breaking high temperatures day after day. With that in mind, I want to move to the above house in the mountains of Chama, New Mexico! It comes with that spectacular view and is only $1,450,000 - lol, if only we could win the lottery! My kids say I'm crazy, but just think what a great place they would have to visit.😉

Here were my goals for last week, and they were easy to complete!
✅1. Rest and recover - Successful cataract surgery on my right eye, with no shiner this time!
✅2. Do whatever I feel like doing - As I get my energy back, I am sewing the rows for the RSS quilt, I completed as many Indiana Puzzle blocks as possible before I ran out of background fabric, but more is in the mail!

Here is the playlist for the coming week:
1. Piece together The Wedding Quilt backing
2. Continue to sew RSS quilt rows together
3. Make more Indiana Puzzle blocks when fabric arrives
4. Stay with The Littles while our daughter has her annual physical on Friday
5. If time allows, start on Moda's new Sew-Along - Letters to Santa!

I don't know is something has changed on Blogger or in my browser settings, but a few of you are now showing up as "Anonymous" in the comments. I am trying a change in my settings to see if it fixes the issue, but if you notice while you are commenting that you are showing up as "Anonymous", please put your first name in your comment, or the name of your blog, and that way I can respond to you. I think I have all of your email addresses in my database, and I love to respond to your comments by email.

Another issue is an error on my part. Although I receive email notification of most of your comments, some land in the unpublished Comments section of my Blogger dashboard. I often forget to check my Dashboard, so if I missed responding to one of your comments, I apologize!

Now it is your turn! Jump right in and add your link to the linkup below. I highly encourage you to check back later in the week to see posts that were linked up after yours. If your browser is reluctant like mine is to take you to Marsha's Spot, just copy the text below and paste it into your browser:

  1. We do that all the time here: if we won the lottery, what spectacular fantasy place would we buy to move to? Ours is usually in Monterey, California, for a low $5,000,000! So glad all went well with your eye surgery and you're getting back to normal. Have a great week, Linda!

  3. Whats not to love about that house! Just last night hubby and I were talking about what we would do if we won the lottery big. A new studio for me for sure!!

  4. That is a lovely house and a beautiful view! You would have to win quite a lot in the lottery, you'll need a groundskeeper to keep everything up! Your quilt looks lovely! I'm so glad you're eyes are doing so well and your starting to get back to full eye sight. Happy stitching!

  5. I love the New Mexico house I am always dreaming of some in Colorado or Montana up in those mountains - I love the mountains. Glad the surgeries are done!

  6. I'm glad you were "shiner-less" with the second surgery! Isn't modern surgery amazing? That Indiana Puzzle block is awesome. Linda, I noticed the Anonymous problem too. I see it more when on my iPad. Some blogs I can comment on with my Google profile, some only have Anonymous. And some of those will not let me "sign on" to Google! I use my laptop ( it's a MacBook Pro) and I do not have the problem. ??????????? It's a definite mystery!

  7. I'd go for that home with that amazing view! We often joke about moving to the mountains and living off the grid - LOL. I don't know that I'd really like "off the grid" - LOL. Glad your second surgery went without the shiner, and you are recovering well. Those two quilt projects are looking great - I love the blocks!

  8. Great about the eye surgery! Now you can see clearly to quilt more! If I won a silly amount of money , I would hire a cook! A lovely cabin in the mountains wouldn't hurt either! Dreamy keeps us sane! Have a restful week.

  9. It's good to hear everything went well and no fabric fight stories were needed this time! Glad you're taking it easy and doing whatever you feel like doing! A little progress here and there!

  11. A woman can dream can't she! I love looking at real estate porn...its a secret addiction...well no more. Blogger is definitely playing with people...sometimes I show up as anonymous and try to go as my google account but it won't sign me in. Gotta then wait until I am on a browser. Not sure what it is all about, but that is my recent experience with it. Good luck with your week.

  12. So good to hear your surgery went so well. Ah yes a million dollar dream home in an ideal spot - what joy. Especially where its cooler in a heatwave. Blogger does funny things these days and I have trouble commenting in some places but this looks alright. I saw the email for Letters to Santa but didn't click on it, can't manage another project so will enjoy yours!

  13. I think it's a browser issue between your blog host and Safari, because I show up fine in Firefox, but I hate using it for my browser. Yay for successful surgery! Hope you find renewed energy for sewing!

  14. Hi Linda! I can easily see why you would like to move to that home in New Mexico. The view!!! WOW. You might remind your kids that it would make a nice inheritance . . . just sayin'. I have a few messages that land in "Pending" land, and I forget to check the dashboard to see them. I think it happens to all of us - I'm certain everyone understands! I sure do like the fabrics in Ruby Star and Indiana Puzzle. How great that the eye surgeries are behind you now and will be a distant memory in no time at all. Thanks so much for the linky party today! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

  17. Linda your blocks are becoming a quilt and the Indiana Puzzle blocks are beautiful! Love the fabrics. Glad your surgeries are behind you and no shiner is a bonus! That does look like a lovely property and I can vouch for life in the mountains! It is pretty spectacular! Good luck on winning so you can fulfill that dream! 😉

  18. Nice house. I bet it is miles away from a quilt shop! Thanks for the heads up on the new Moda quilt along. I publish a monthly list of quilt alongs and mystery quilts in my guild newsletter. So I added that one. I may try to do a wall hanging using that idea. I think I have a book on making letters. Someday I’ll check that out. Good luck with your goals this week.

  19. Hi Linda,
Thanks for stopping by my place...Food for Thought. Yes Zoe is real.....she is my niece. The Flag quilt is to keep her legs warm in the Fall when she's at Band Practice. She does the flags, batons and the rifles.

  22. Linda I've had the same problem on my blogs with comments. It wasn't until last week that I read someone who said she checks her spam folder all the time to see if comments went in there instead of being posted. I didn't even know there was a spam folder and then I checked and sure enough - there were many comments I never saw. Hey sorry about the heat wave. We have had monsoonal weather so humidity is high which is a bummer at night - everything so still when you are trying to sleep. We don't have air up here so fans have to do. Love the look of that house. Sure wish you win the lottery and if you win billions don't forget i'm a blogger friend, lolol. I'll remember you too should I will a billion some day....take care and stay cool

    1. Yes I always forget about my Spam folder too! Thanks for the reminder. I remember when I used to stay with my Mom and step-Dad in Riverside, they rarely turned on their AC, and although it got cooler at night, it was an adjustment to me being used to AC all the time. Haha I did win $4 on the lottery, so let me know where to send the $2 - lol!
