A big thank you to all who have commented, comforted, and encouraged me about cataract surgery. The consultation was last Friday, and the doctor answered all my questions. My surgeries are scheduled for July 6 and July 20. In the meantime I can wear my contacts again - yay! After 30 years of wearing contacts, I was a big whiner about having to wear 5-year old nerdy glasses on my nose!
Here were the goals for last week:
❌1. RBD blocks
✅2. Cataract consultation on Friday - Done!
❌3. Get started on Pieces in the Garden row #4
✅4. Make a decision on the Wedding Quilt - I may change the pattern! - Done - after seeking advice from family, I am going with a simpler design
Our daughter brought the Littles over on Sunday for some of our favorite snacks.
Afterwards, we headed to town to get ice cream. Fun times!
Besides the usual errands and appointments, I'm looking forward to some sewing goals this week:
1. Finish layout for The Wedding Quilt - I hope to do a post about it this week!
2. Catch up on Pieces in the Garden for last month
3. Finish RBD blocks

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you've got the dates set for your cataracts, it often seems like the first step is the hardest one. After your surgery, you'll wonder why you waited so long.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun weekend. Good luck with this week's to do list.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have got the dates for the surgeries. Sounds like you all had a great time together last Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your goals for this week,Linda.
Glad to hear you're all set for cataract surgery! I bet it will be good to get that out of the way. Sounds like you're on the right path for the wedding quilt, too. I'll look forward to seeing what you decided to do! I'm so glad you're getting to see more of those grands - such cuties!
ReplyDeleteI can tell you are feeling a little better about the cataract surgery which is a good thing. Meanwhile you've got a great to do list and just look at those beautiful Littles!
ReplyDeletegood luck on your cataract surgeries lots of eye drops for awhile but you can see so much better!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you're not feeling well, Linda! My mom just had her cataract surgery done in late March and she said it was a breeze -- and she's over-the-moon happy with the results. Practically skipping around with perfect vision and no glasses except for reading!
ReplyDeleteGlad the consult went well, and you have the dates set. Yay for being able to wear contacts again, too! Those littles are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad for you with your cataract surgery moving forward. And a change in your wedding quilt plans, I'm interested in seeing what you come up with soon!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend outing...good luck with your To-Do List. Have a great day!
When I first saw this, I thought "what's up - its Monday"? Apparently it is Tuesday and I am so confused. Very good news about your cataract surgery....you will be pleased.
ReplyDeleteLovely to have the littlies visit, I bet they bring loving energy. Good idea to simplify the wedding quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure all will go well with your surgeries. DH is doing well. We travel to the eye doctor on Wednesday for a one week check up. I may get to stop at a quilt shop! Although, I have plenty of fabric and projects I really want to participate in the Positivity QAL at Sew Preeti Quilts and do not have enough background yardage in my stash. We will see.
ReplyDeleteI am a nerdy glasses wearer having no signs, as of yet, of cataracts. Contacts are an option, of course, providing they came with someone who could put them in for me. Good luck with your two surgeries. I’m sure that everything will go just fine. Pattie @ Olla-Podrida
ReplyDeleteI've never been willing to even try contact lenses....guess I'm stuck with the nerdy glasses LOL
ReplyDeleteHaha Marsha, well in my case those nerdy glasses just irritate my nose. I've worn contacts too long to get used to glasses again. Hope you are having a good week!
DeleteHi Linda. I had my first cataract surgery done and the second was done the day before the hospitals shut down for Covid. It was a bit creepy, but so worth it. Just wait until you see white or coloured fabrics with even just one eye done. It’s truly amazing! I’m still wondering how I ever managed to match fabrics before the surgery! Such cute littles. Glad you got some time with them.. 😉
ReplyDeleteI'm hopeful that all I have to wear after surgeries is readers, so I'll still be nerdy - lol!
ReplyDeleteHey there! Aren't grandbabies the best? :) They look so very happy! Looking forward to seeing the wedding quilt! I agree - simpler is better. :) Take good care!
